Andrews Sykes were delighted to provide competition winners Maidstone United FC Under 13s with tickets for Charlton Athleticโs final match of the 2012/13 Season, where โThe Addicksโ hosted Bristol City, who were unfortunately already relegated from the Championship. Maidstone coach Tom Jarmyn took a group of players, family supporters and others who had helped Maidstone throughout the season to โThe Valleyโ where they saw a great game, especially if you were supporting Charlton.
In a veryย competitiveย season which saw clubs racing up and down the table as each result took on huge significance, Charltonโs Home form towards the run-in has been an big improvement and there was even talk of promotion play-off chances, and a strong winย againstย โThe Robinsโ was a fitting end to the season. This league has been very exciting for the neutrals and nerve wracking for fans in many clubs, so it was a relief to see Charlton finish in a comfortably safe 9th, and where if two more resultsย had gone their way, a play off slot could have been theirsโฆ
Tomโs team must have wondered what Championshipย footballย was all about; with a goal-lessย firstย 45 minutes and 5 scored after half-time, this was a classic โgame of two halvesโ. It obviouslyย inspiredย the U13s, who went on to go 2 better in their Sunday fixture against Faversham Town, scoring 5 and keeping a clean sheet; a great result away from home
Andrews Sykes has been delighted to have been shirt sponsors for Charlton for the 2012/13 season โ and we fully appreciate and share the clubโs โfamilyโ oriented values together with their fighting spirit under the leadership of Chris Powell, who has a great reputation within football.
