Andrews Sykes are proud to assist in the construction of the first ‘sail’ of the new Twin bridge being built in Dorset.
The operation is a major milestone in the construction of the bridge which will span Backwater Channel between Hamworthy and Poole, due to open in 2012.
The construction has been labelled as a “huge challenge” by Poole’s council as it involves more than 500 tonnes of steel and up to 41 separate sections of steel.
Andrews Sykes supplied 6×6” diesel pumps, hoses, valves and adaptors which was installed by qualified Sykes pumps engineers.
