No off season for our chillers and boilers – Andrews Sykes provides temporary climate control for a consultancy firm

No matter the time of year, there is no off season for our chillers and boilers! When a major consultancy firm in central London was stripping out their existing heating and cooling equipment, Andrews Sykes was called to provide temporary climate control during the transition period.  

The building offices remained occupied whilst the work was being carried out, therefore maintaining a comfortable indoor environment was a major priority. Hence the need for comfort cooling and heating, as well as handling the building’s hot water needs.

The biggest challenge of this operation was space, or rather the lack of it. Where was a chiller and boiler meant to sit in a congested Central London office space? The roof! With limited floor space, we looked up to the skies, and the roof proved to be the perfect spot for our units to sit.

For cooling capabilities, Andrews Sykes supplied one 200kW Fluid Chiller. The chiller was connected to the existing pipework of the building and within minutes the offices were cooled to the appropriate temperature. Like all Andrews Chillers, the unit is highly efficient and provides instant cooling to large areas.

For the heating and hot water capabilities, Andrews Sykes supplied an 80kW Electric Boiler which was positioned beside the chiller. The 80kW Electric Boiler offered an economical and flexible heating and hot water solution, especially compared to traditional oil-driven equipment.

Both units also functioned quietly, ensuring limited disturbance to the offices’ inhabitants below. The chiller and boiler were able to provide adequate climate control for the employees.

Offices were able to remain operational, and the consulting firm was able to replace the HVAC systems with minimal disruptions. Our client was extremely pleased with the work.
